Serena Voted Most Respected in East Africa

According to the results of a highly respected regional survey carried out by
PricewaterhouseCoopers and the Nation Media Group, the Serena Hotel Group is the
first choice of some 250 of the region’s leading CEOs as the company they most
respect in the East African hotel and tourism sector. Now in its fifth year of success and a major landmark on the East African business
landscape, this year East Africa’s Most Respected Company Survey took as its theme
‘Inspired Co-operation’ while asking leading CEOs to nominate their most respected
companies in five categories: Financial Services, Products, Hotels and Tourism,
Services and ICT.

Voters, who were asked to consider the reputation, honesty, integrity, corporate
practices, ethics, corporate social responsibility, strategy and work policy of the
companies they nominated, placed The Serena Group in first place in the Hotel and
Tourism category.

Charles Muchene, country leader of sponsor PricewaterhouseCoopers, commented that
real respect in the business community is earned only by the provision of exemplary
customer service, innovative and professional management, social responsibility and
leadership in employee care.

Winning an award in East Africa’s Most Respected Company Survey comes hot on the
heels of the Serena Group having two of its lodges voted ‘Best African Safari
Lodges’ by Conde Nast’s Traveler Magazine, whose voters rated Serengeti Safari
Lodge and Ngorongoro Safari Lodge amongst the very best of Africa’s safari lodges.
