La Quinta Corporation today
announced that it has appointed Mark Osterberg as Vice President and Chief
Accounting Officer. Mr. Osterberg will lead La Quinta’s accounting,
financial reporting and audit functions and will report to David L. Rea,
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.Mr. Osterberg brings to La Quinta over 20 years of financial management
and public company experience, much of that time being spent within the
travel industry. He has a broad background in GAAP, SEC and financial
disclosure matters. He has served as Chief Accounting Officer for
Northwest Airlines Corporation and Chief Financial Officer for Sun Country
Airlines. Most recently, Mr. Osterberg was a self-employed consultant to a
number of diverse clients. Mr. Osterberg’s professional background
includes substantial public accounting experience, having spent nine years
with the accounting firm Deloitte Haskins & Sells. Mr. Osterberg has also
served on the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council.

A graduate of Southern Methodist University with a BBA in Economics, Mr.
Osterberg also holds an MA in Economics from Rice University and an MBA in
Accounting from the University of Florida and is a Certified Public
Accountant.
