Marriott Hotel Utilizes SpectraLink Wi-Fi Phones

SpectraLink Corporation, an industry pioneer in enterprise wireless communications,
today announced that the Redmond Marriott Town Center Hotel in Redmond,
Washington, has deployed SpectraLink’s Wi-Fi-based NetLink Wireless
Telephones.  The new seven-floor hotel, with 258 guest rooms and four suites,
now boasts 50 NetLink i640 Wireless Telephones making employees more
productive and responsive as they provide services and amenities to guests.
The wireless handsets utilize Cisco Aironet wireless LAN access points
allowing seamless mobile communications over a converged wireless network.Managers and staff in the luxury hotel are instantly accessible within
meeting facilities, ballrooms, guest rooms, the poolside, and fitness center,
while retaining the advantages of a fully-featured business telephone at all
times.  The NetLink i640 Wireless Telephones, which integrate with the hotel’s
Nortel Meridian 1 PBX, also feature push-to-talk capabilities for instant
group calling, eliminating the need to deploy walkie-talkies in the facility.
“NetLink Wireless Telephones have proven indispensable to our employees—
an extension of our phone system replete with productivity features,” said
Jeff Hart, Redmond Marriott Town Center’s General Manager.  “It’s like putting
my office phone in my pocket and walking around the hotel.  There’s no need
for two-way radios, where you don’t know who is talking, and you get bits and
pieces of a conversation instead of the whole message.  This is a complete
wireless voice solution.”
“The hospitality industry is an incredibly demanding environment that is
experiencing substantial benefits from providing employees with mobility,”
said Jill Kenney, SpectraLink Executive VP of Sales and Marketing.  “NetLink
Wireless Telephones enable the Redmond Marriott Town Center to offer a higher
level of service by making employees more responsive and effective in dealing
with their guests.”
