Crowne Plaza Brings Meeting Space to Chicago O’Hare

Crowne Plaza’s largest U.S. meeting
space hotel has opened at one of the nation’s largest U.S. airports with the
re-flagging of the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare.  The property was formerly
the Holiday Inn O’Hare International Hotel.
In addition to re-branding the 503-room hotel, Crowne Plaza’s second
largest in the U.S., the property is in the midst of a multi-million dollar
meeting space and guestroom transformation scheduled for completion in
mid-2005.

Guests now take pleasure in the hotel?s Crowne Plaza?s Sleep Advantage
program, highlighted by enhanced beds with seven pillows, a plush duvet,
luxurious sheets and a pillow-top mattress. The program includes
guaranteed wake-up calls, a complimentary eye mask and drape clip to
block out unwanted light, earplugs, a lavender spray to promote relaxation, a
nightlight for soft lighting at night, and a CD of relaxing music pre-loaded in
each in-room Sony CD/Radio.

Guests at the Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare also can request a room in a
designated Quiet Zone, where children and leisure groups are prohibited and
housekeeping or maintenance activities does not take place between 9 pm -
10 am, unless requested by a guest.

New guestroom case goods and bathrooms with modern touches such as
curved shower curtains also will be added.

The renovation covers the hotel’s 55,000 square feet of wired meeting
space, including its 23,000 square-foot O’Hare International Ballroom, the
largest unobstructed ballroom in Rosemont and the O’Hare area.  Twenty
additional meeting rooms, including the 89-seat, multi-tiered Midway Room
Amphitheater, will be updated.

“We see this re-branding as a necessary step to attract meeting planners
looking for an upscale brand close to one of the world’s most accessible
airports,” says Kevin O?Brien, general manager of the Crowne Plaza Chicago
O’Hare.

The project also includes updating the hotel’s public spaces, its interior and
the opening of a Concierge Lounge.

The Crowne Plaza Chicago O?Hare is located 1.5 miles from O’Hare
International Airport, two blocks from Chicago’s EL-Train and 15 miles from
downtown.  The property is directly across from the Donald E. Stephens
Convention Center and the Rosemont Theater.

The hotel includes a fitness center and a three-story, glass-enclosed indoor
pool.

All guestrooms are equipped with high-speed Internet access.
