Hilton San Diego Stars in Film Festival

For the second consecutive year, the
Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter has been named the official hotel for the
annual San Diego Film Festival, being held Wednesday, Sept. 29 through
Sunday, Oct. 3.
In celebration of this starring role, the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter
is rolling out the red carpet and offering film lovers a special room rate
of $169 per night.

According to the hotel’s general manager, movie buffs attending this
fall’s San Diego Film Festival can rub elbows with some of Hollywood’s
brightest stars and save a few bucks for popcorn by taking advantage of
this limited special offer.

“We are thrilled to once again host some of the best independent film
makers and their cast, crews and fans for this five-day event,” said
Renier Milan, general manager.

To receive this two-thumbs up room rate, festival-goers must refer to code
FIL when booking hotel reservations, which can be made by calling the
hotel at 619 231-4040 or 1-888-779-6370.

The competitive five-day San Diego Film Festival will spotlight more than
75 feature films and showcase the best in American and international
feature, documentary and short films. More than just movie screenings, the
event also includes workshops and panels, Q & A sessions with studio
executives, filmmakers and cast members, and guest appearances by

More than 20,000 filmgoers are expected to attend this year’s cinematic
celebration, which also plays host to some of San Diego’s most
star-studded parties, including the exclusive Actor’s Ball and Awards
Ceremony that will be held at the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter.

According to festival organizer Robin Laatz, the Hilton was selected as
the host hotel for the second consecutive year because of the loyal
partnership forged with the Film Festival and premier location in the
heart of the Gaslamp Quarter.

The Hilton—known for being a celebrity haven with such recent headline
grabbing guests as Hugh Jackman, Carmen Electra, Angeline Jolie, Venus and
Serena Williams and band members of No Doubt—is in downtown’s trendiest
neighborhood that boasts nearly 100 restaurants, theatres, coffeehouses
and nightclubs.

Situated directly opposite of San Diego’s waterfront Convention Center and
the San Diego Padres’ new Petco Park, the Hilton Gaslamp blends
avant-garde architecture in an intimate atmosphere with personalized
service and world-class amenities offering two restaurants, a day spa and
salon.

The Hilton is less than 10 minutes from San Diego International airport,
