America West Appoint Walsh as General Counsel

America West Airlines
announced today that Jim Walsh has been named senior vice president and
general counsel. Walsh will oversee all legal affairs for the airline and
will report directly to Chairman and CEO Doug Parker. “Jim brings three decades of aviation-related business and law experience
to America West,” said Parker. “His strong business background, combined
with his extensive legal experience in matters that are critical to our
industry provide the right combination for the America West team. We
welcome Jim and look forward to his contributions.”

Walsh, 56, has served as senior vice president, general counsel and
corporate secretary of San Antonio-based Fairchild Dornier Corporation
since 1991. From 1979 through 1991, Walsh held a variety of positions with
Dallas/Fort Worth-based American Airlines, including vice president,
purchasing and inventory control and vice president, law. He was a member
of the business law department at Bond, Schoeneck & King in Syracuse, N.Y.
from 1973 through 1979.

Walsh received a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Notre Dame
and a juris doctorate degree from State University of New York at Buffalo.
He holds state bar admissions in New York, Florida and Texas, and also
holds a variety of federal bar admissions in New York, Texas and the fifth
and eleventh district U.S. Court of Appeals.
