Chief Minister Opens New Malaysia Airlines Office

Malaysia Airlines officially opened its new Penang city office this week with a promise to further develop Penang as its secondary hub. The opening ceremony was officiated by the Chief Minister of Penang, Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon in the presence of the national airline’s corporate clients, travel agents, government officials, business partners and staff.

The new city office, located at Menara KWSP, 1st and 2nd Floor, 38, Jalan Ahmad Shah, 10050 Penang, brings together the back-office and frontline staff, which previously were operating from two different premises. With the opening of this integrated office, passengers can look forward to faster and smoother services.

The ticketing outlet in the new city office, which operates from 8.30am to 5.30pm on Monday to Saturdays except Public Holidays, has a customer-friendly environment including easy access for the disabled. A total of 12 ticket counters are available (six for economy class, two for first/business class and Enrich Gold members, two for travel agents, one for refund and one for enquires) for customers to carry out transactions with ease and comfort.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dato Ahmad Fuaad Dahlan said, “Indeed there are a lot of things we want to do in Penang and for Penang. We want to further develop Penang as our secondary hub, connecting Penang to the rest of Malaysia, and to the world and strengthening its position as a pivotal player in the Indonesia Malaysia Thailand Growth Triangle (IMTGT). Towards this, we are expanding our operations in Penang and this brand new office is just the beginning. We will work very closely with our partners in the travel and hospitality industries and the Penang Government to jointly promote Penang for the benefit of all.”
