IHG Continues Expansion in South America

InterContinental Hotels Group, the world’s largest and most global hotel company, continues the expansion of its Holiday Inn brand in Latin America with the opening of the 168-room, 18-story Holiday Inn Express Santiago, located in Santiago, Chile. Situated in the modern commercial zone of Las Condes near downtown Santiago, Chile, the Holiday Inn Express Santiago is the 25th Holiday Inn brand to open in Latin America—a number that has doubled in the last four years. It is also the fifth Holiday Inn Express property to open in Chile with Talbot S.A., owners of the Holiday Inn Express Santiago.

“IHG’s mid-market expansion in Latin America is due to the success and positive perception of IHG’s brands as well as the long-term relationships we’ve established with several owners of our Holiday Inn brands,” says Alvaro Diago, Area President of InterContinental Hotels Group Latin America. “In addition to Talbot S.A.‘s Holiday Inn Express Puerto Madero in Argentina, and the Holiday Inn properties in Chile: Iquique, Concepcion, Antofagasta, and Temuco, we are very proud to be opening the Holiday Inn Express Santiago with them as well. I take great pride in saying that we look forward to opening more hotels with them throughout region.”

IHG has a broad range of Holiday Inn properties in Latin America, including the Holiday Inn Select Jaragua and the Holiday Inn Parque Anhembi, both of which opened earlier this year in Brazil. The Holiday Inn Parque Anhembi has been recognized as the largest IHG property in Latin America and the fifth largest Holiday Inn in the world.

The Holiday Inn Express Santiago features data ports for personal computers with high-speed Internet access, and dual-line telephones with voice mail, throughout its 168 guestrooms.

The guestrooms also include room safes, irons and ironing boards, coffee makers and hairdryers. In addition, the hotel offers a fitness center, indoor swimming pool, a business center, along with an onsite laundry facility, and six meeting rooms which have the capacity to host up to 200 people.
