Last week at the DEPA Middle East Hotel Awards gala dinner Shangri-La
Hotel, Dubai was awarded “New Hotel of the Year”.The DEPA Middle East Hotel Awards are designed to recognize and reward
outstanding service,  performance and creativity by hotels and industry
personnel in fifteen carefully selected categories covering everything from
Convention and Conference facilities to Architectural design. Joining
Shangri-La Hotel,  Dubai as finalists in the new hotel category were JW
Marriott, Cairo and Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort.

Commenting on the award, Mr Bernhard Haechler, General Manager, Shangri-La
Hotel, Dubai said, “We are delighted to have received this award, less than
one year after our opening.  It is testimony to the commitment of all our
dedicated staff and reinforces our goal to provide Shangri-La service
standards from genuinely caring people.”
