Le Royal Meridien dominates DEPA

Continuing to dominate the circuit of travel awards

is Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort & Spa, which scooped three trophies in this

year’s DEPA Middle East Hotel Awards, held in Dubai. The resort won more awards than any other hotel at the event, taking home the Commitment to Quality Award and Energy Conservation and Environmental Awareness Awards, as well as the Resort and Family Property of the Year Award.

These latest achievements came hot on the heels of a hat-trick of wins at the inaugural MENA Travel Awards, held during Arabian Travel Market, adding a total of six new prizes in May alone.

According to Pam Wilby, the property’s general manager, the latest awards are a welcome addition, as they recognise the ongoing strides the hotel has made in its commitment to eco-awareness and quality standards.

Ê

She said: “Two years ago, the resort won ISO9001:2000 accreditation from BSI for quality standards, as well as becoming Le Méridien’s top performer in the Middle East for guest satisfaction and number one in the group worldwide for food and beverage, as monitored by global consultants, J D Powers.

Ê

“Since then, it would have been easy to rest on our laurels, but we have continued to strive for more - and I believe the team’s commitment has paid off with six awards in two weeks alone.

Ê

“It is fitting that this exposure comes in the wake of the most successful Arabian Travel Market ever - our team of 800 people deserve their turn in the spotlight.”

Meanwhile, Le Royal Meridien has partnered with BMW to fit out the luxury resort with a fleet of limousines.

Ê

The award-winning resort has taken delivery of five new BMW 735Li motors, that will be used for chauffeuring guests to and from the airport as well as for VIP guests to use during their stay.

Ê

Wilby said: “BMW is as committed as we are to service excellence and customer satisfaction - and the fleet of top-of-the-range cars is a welcome addition to the hotel.”
