Executive Changes at Hilton UK & Ireland

Hilton UK & Ireland today announces two Executive Board changes.  The present Vice President of Marketing, Hugh Taylor, is taking up the role of Regional Vice President, Southern Region and is to be succeeded by Keith Brown, currently Director of Marketing, London Region.
Both Hugh and Keith are award-winning hotel industry marketers, Hugh having gained experience with Edwardian Hotels and Jarvis Hotels, Keith with Forte and Thistle Hotels.  In early 2003, Hugh was appointed Chairman of the England Marketing Advisory Board and appointed to the Board of VisitBritain, positions that he retains.

Wolfgang M. Neumann, Area President, Hilton UK & Ireland, said: ‘These promotions demonstrate that strength and flexibility in Hilton management allows us to fill key appointments from within our organisation, with both moves underlining our commitment to broad executive development.  At a time when the hotel market is beginning to show some signs of improvement, I am delighted to have such an experienced and capable executive team.’

Hugh said: ‘It is indicative of the increasingly high regard in which the marketing function is held that I can make this move into an operational role. I am relishing the challenges ahead.  I have enjoyed my time leading the marketing of Hilton UK & Ireland, and leave behind what is, in my opinion, the best marketing team in the business and a five year run of winning the BDRC Leading Choice Hotel Brand award.’

Keith said: ‘It is a challenging time for marketing in the hotel industry, with market differentiation for the future a particular focus. I am excited by the prospect of taking the most powerful hotel brand forward, inheriting an excellent team and a strong portfolio of products from Hugh, and moving the game on.’
