Travelweb Selects Internap for High-Speed Connectivity

Internap Network Services Corporation announced today that Travelweb LLC has selected Internap’s managed, multi-carrier Internet services to power its web-based travel distribution business.

Under the agreement, Internap will provide Travelweb with high-performance managed Internet services for the company’s website. Travelweb joins a number of other leading travel and hospitality companies, such as American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Expedia, Travelocity and others, that rely on Internap’s intelligent route control technologies.

“Travelweb enables more than 50,000 hotels worldwide to sell their hotel rooms through multiple distribution affiliates, so speed, redundancy and reliability are critical to our business,” said Aaron Coleman, Chief Technology Officer for Travelweb LLC. “Internap’s overlay network business model provides outstanding IP connectivity services to satisfy our needs. Their proactive Network Operations Centers (NOCs) and customer service personnel were also invaluable, and key in our decision to select Internap for Travelweb.”

“The travel and hospitality industries have been key components of Internap’s growth strategy,” said Dave Abrahamson, Chief Marketing Officer and VP of Sales at Internap. “More and more enterprises that depend on the Internet to drive their business, like Travelweb, recognize the value of Internap’s intelligent route control technology and industry-leading service levels.”

Travelweb is making a major impact on the online travel industry by engineering the first direct connection to hoteliers’ central reservation systems (CRS). As a result, customers who book with Travelweb, or one of its distribution partners, have access to real-time availability and discounts and receive an electronic confirmation of their reservation directly from the hotel.
