Radisson SAS Takes Wireless to the Next Stage

Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts, the first class hotel brand of Rezidor SAS Hospitality, has announced plans to develop full wireless access in all rooms, meeting rooms and public areas in all Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts by the end of 2004.

Currently, almost 100 Radisson SAS Hotels have either implemented high-speed wireless access in all public areas or are in the final stages of providing this service. Full wireless access is currently available in fourteen Radisson SAS Hotels, covering a total of 3,782 rooms with another twelve hotels to follow before this year-end. The cost to the user varies from approximately 5-20 EUR (approx. $6-$25 U.S.), depending on the location and the amount of time used.

Finn Schulz, vice president of information technology for Rezidor SAS, comments: “In order to keep up with IT developments in the market and to assure we keep offering our guests an up-to-date service, we have partnered with NetPoint to ensure a smooth implementation of full wireless access in all rooms and public areas of all our hotels by the end of 2004.”

“Wireless technology is rapidly igniting an exciting new mobile era, which is re-shaping the way people stay in touch at work, at home and away from home. Hotspots, wireless capability and wireless enabled laptops equipped with mobile technology and wireless buildings allow users to be more productive,” said Herbert Weber, marketing director of Intel EMEA.
