The bodies of two British tourists have been found dead on a beach in southern Thailand.

Both are believed to have serious head wounds, with police beginning an investigation into the incident.

The victims were found on the island of Koh Tao.

The bodies of a 23-year-old woman from Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, and a 24-year-old man from Jersey were found, according to the Thai authorities.

The pair arrived in Thailand last month, according to a police official, who said officers were yet to identify a suspect or motive.

Meanwhile, boats have been blocked from leaving the island.
