Bangkok Airways (PG) has dropped an order for four Airbus A350-800s, according to reports.
The cancellation coincides with the carriers’ recently revised strategic plan to consolidate its domestic and regional operations.
An Airbus spokesperson has confirmed that the A350-800 order, which was placed at the end of 2005, has been cancelled.
It is thought that the Thai carrier will focus on orders for more A320s and A319s for regional growth whilst feeding international passengers to its network via codeshare partnerships it has established.
This is the latest in a string of Airbus cancellations following what has been a turbulent year for aviation.
