Avis Car Hire celebrates 40 years of service in Seychelles

In 1973, Kaven Parcou and Norman Esselmont set up the Avis Car Hire operation in Seychelles. This followed the official opening of the Seychelles International Airport by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth in 1972 which launched in earnest.

Mr. Thierry Domballe, the Regional Director of Avis for Africa and Indian Ocean, was in Seychelles last week to mark the 40th anniversary of Avis in Seychelles and to present a plaque for Norman’s Car Hire for 40 years of service in Seychelles.

Minister Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture; Elsia Grandcourt, the CEO of the Tourism Board; and Sherin Naiken, the PS for Tourism, were all present when Thierry Domballe, the Regional Director of Avis for Africa and Indian Ocean, presented the 40th anniversary plaque to Kaven Parcou at the Offices of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture at the National Cultural Center in Victoria.

Minister St.Ange congratulated Avis for being present in Seychelles for the last 40 years, and he said that Avis should be proud to have had someone like Kaven Parcou to keep the flag of Avis flying in Seychelles with pride.
