Andrew Brownsword Hotels acquires Old Swan & Minster Mill

Andrew Brownsword Hotels has announced that it is in the process of acquiring the Old Swan & Minster Mill in the Cotswolds.

With contracts exchanged, the deal will see the property become the 13th in the collection.

Owned by the de Savary family for the last six years, recent investment has seen the Old Swan & Minster Mill transformed into a five star inn, and the acquisition is the result of a private sale between the de Savary family and Andrew and Christina Brownsword.

Andrew Brownsword commented: “We’re delighted to have acquired the Old Swan & Minister Mill, adding an Oxfordshire property to our collection of beautiful country house hotels and our city centre ABode group.

“The hotel has a great offering for both leisure guests and the events market, and we look forward to working with its team to build its reputation still further.”

The acquisition sees the transfer of the property from one family hotelier to another, and the inn will continue to operate as usual for the immediate future.

Andrew Brownsword Hotels is a collection of privately owned hotels located in the UK’s most beautiful places.

Founded in 1994 with the purchase of the group’s first property, The Bath Priory Hotel, the acquisition of the Old Swan & Minster Mill follows the group’s most recent purchase of its three existing Cotswolds properties; Buckland Manor, The Slaughters Manor House and The Slaughters Country Inn, and Amberley Castle in Sussex, all acquired in 2011 following the collapse of the Von Essen group.
