Altis Hotels Group chairman Raul Martins collects the World Travel Award in Italy

Altis Belém Hotel, Spa & Suites has been recognised by the World Travel Awards at a Gala Ceremony event in Sardinia.

In front of an industry audience of hundreds at Forte Village Resort, the property took the title of Portugal’s Leading Design Hotel.

At the same time sister property Altis Suites was awarded the title of Portugal’s Leading Serviced Apartments for the second consecutive year.

Raul Martins, chairman of the board of directors at the Altis Hotels Group took the stage to receive the awards and proudly stated: “The attribution of this award is international recognition of the work that the teams have been developing and hotels maintaining throughout the year.

“These awards are an important reference in at the booking stage, influencing which hotel a customer might choose.”

Portugal itself was well represented at the event, taking home 16 trophies from the 77 categories in which its hotels, destinations and brands were nominated.

The selection of nominees and winners of the World Travel Awards is comprised of thousands of professionals in the hospitality and tourism sector.
