More than 30 organizations in the travel and tourism industry from states across the nation have joined together to launch the U.S. Tourism Economy Alliance, a coalition to protect the economic engine of travel and tourism. Travel and tourism support more than 16 million jobs across the country and contribute enormously to the economies of destinations nationwide.

Bermuda to Welcome King Charles III on Landmark First Visit as Sovereign
Bermuda is set to take centre stage this spring as King Charles III makes his first official visit to the island as Sovereign. Taking place from 30 April to 2 May 2026, the visit marks a significant moment for the British Overseas Territory and its enduring relationship with the UK. His Majesty’s last official visit to Bermuda was in 1970 to read the Speech from the Throne and open the 350th year of parliamentary government in Bermuda. This will be the first Sovereign visit in 16 years, following Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip’s visited in 2009 to join celebrations of the 400th anniversary of settlement, and comes some 73 years after they first visited the island in 1953.

British Airways launches St. Louis and Guernsey
Two new British Airways routes took to the skies this week, as the first flights to St. Louis, Missouri in the US, and Guernsey in the Channel Islands departed from London St. Louis became the 27th US destination to join the British Airways network, as the inaugural flight to the ‘Gateway to the West’ landed. The airline offers more direct flights to the US than any other European airline. In a playful pun, the first flight was operated by an entire crew named Louis, Lewis or Louise.
