Air Race E has been unveiling plans for a new aeronautical challenge during the Dubai Air Show.

The world’s first electric air racing series, organisers hope to stage the first test event next year, with a full season to follow in 2021.

On display at the Dubai Air Show is an electric race airplane belonging team leader Martyn Wiseman of Team Condor.

It is the first electric race airplane to be on display to the public and showcases the types of electric engines that may be used from next year.

Air Race E is preparing to announce the first eight international racing teams to contest the series, with groups from the UK, USA, Canada, France, Germany and the Netherlands expected to sign up.
