Scowsill appointed WTTC president
The World Travel & Tourism Council has announced the appointment of David Scowsill as its new president and chief executive. Formally starting in the role on November 15th, Scowsill will continue the organisation’s work to raise awareness of the importance of travel and tourism and its US$5.8 trillion value to the global economy.
WTTC forms $5m partnership with CNBC, Sky News and Nat Geo
The World Travel & Tourism Council has announced a US$5 million multi-platform global partnership with CNBC, National Geographic Channel and Sky News for the next three years to help promote awareness of the economic and social importance of the travel & tourism industry worldwide.
Beijing to host 10th WTTC Global Summit
The WTTC announced at World Travel Market that it is to hold its 10th Global Travel & Tourism Summit in Beijing, China. The Summit will be hosted by China National Tourism Administration and The People’s Government of the Municipality of Beijing, and take place 25-27 May 2010.
