WTTC Global Summit 2016: Scowsill urges world leaders to keep borders open
World Travel & Tourism president David Scowsill has urged world leaders not to close borders in response to the growing threat of terrorism. Speaking at the start of the organisation’s annual Global Summit in Dallas, Texas, he said: “Closing borders and jeopardising the freedom to travel is not the answer to the current security concerns. World leaders need to stand together and act now, with the support of the tourism sector.”
WTTC to examine ‘Travel Beyond Boundaries’ at Global Summit 2016
World Travel & Tourism Council president David Scowsill has announced the theme of this year’s Global Summit will be “Travel Beyond Boundaries”. The programme will focus on how tourism will respond to the biggest issues of the moment - migration, climate change, terrorism, security and border policies.
