WTM report: BA cabin crew stuck in bygone era

World Travel Market 2009 drew to a close with British Airways’ cabin crew accused of not moving with the times or helping Chief Executive Willie Walsh cuts costs at the beleaguered flag-carrier. Speaking at the WTM Vision Global Economic Forum on the Day 4, aviation consultant Jonathan Strickland said: “Cabin crew still think that things have not changed.”

Continental unveils new flat-bed seat at WTM

Continental Airlines unveiled its new flat-bed seat at World Travel Market this week, the first time the seat has been displayed outside North America. The seat made its debut flight on a Boeing 777 flight from Hong Kong to Continental’s New York hub, Newark Liberty International Airport, on November 1. The seat will be gradually installed across the fleet over the next three years.
