Berlin expects crowds to mark 25 years since the fall of the wall
The German capital is expecting a large number of visitors to descend on the city to mark the twenty-fifth anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. “Guests want to experience first-hand how Berlin and its people have taken advantage of the historic opportunity given to them a quarter century ago,” says Burkhard Kieker, CEO of visitBerlin.

9.7 million attended meetings in Berlin last year
After tourism reported new record results for last year, the German capital now also takes positive stock of the meeting and convention year 2011: 115,700 events took place last year (+2 percent). They were attended by 9.7 million participants; this corresponds to 7 percent more than in 2010.
