Vietnam Airlines boosts mobility access on flights
Vietnam Airlines has introduced a range of new and enhanced services to support passengers with reduced mobility, providing additional assistance and convenience for people with disabilities, walking difficulties, impaired hearing or vision, and the elderly or infirm, when passing through airports or when boarding or disembarking from Vietnam Airlines flights.
Vietnam Airlines signs for ten A350 planes from Airbus
Vietnam Airlines has signed a memorandum of understanding with Airbus for ten more A350-900 aircraft. “The intention to acquire these additional aircraft reflects our excellent experience with the A350 since it entered service with Vietnam Airlines last year,” said Duong Tri Thanh, president, Vietnam Airlines.
Vietnam Airlines sees sharp rise in pre-tax profits
Vietnam Airlines has announced total consolidated revenue of VND36 trillion for the six months to June 30th 2016. At the same time pre-tax profits are estimated at VND 1,600 billion, reaching nearly seven per cent of the target set for 2016. In the first six months of 2016, the aviation market in Vietnam by 27.2 per cent compared to the same period last year, with a 37 per cent increase in the domestic market.
Thanh takes up leadership of Vietnam Airlines
Vietnam Airlines has announced the appointment of Duong Tri Thanh as the national flag-carrier’s new president and chief executive officer. Thanh takes over the position from Pham Ngoc Minh, who has assumed the role of chairman after a highly successful eight year presidency during which he oversaw a transformative period of growth and expansion for the company.
World Travel Awards partners with Vietnam Airlines
Vietnam Airlines has been appointed Airline Partner to the upcoming World Travel Awards Asia & Australasia Gala Ceremony 2016. The event is scheduled to take place at InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort on October 15th, with the Vietnam flag-carrier now set to play a pivotal role in the event.
Vietnam extends UK visitor visa waiver
The government of Vietnam has announced that it is extending its visa exemption program for UK passport holders for single-entry stays of up to 15 days, until June 30th, 2017. The policy, which was first introduced on July 1st, 2015, also applies to French, German, Spanish and Italian nationals.
Vietnam Airlines to go daily on London Heathrow route
Vietnam Airlines has confirmed that it will commence the operation of daily non-stop services between Heathrow and Vietnam from June 23rd, 2016, adding a new Thursday flight to Hanoi to its existing six flights per week schedule. Offering three flights per week to Ho Chi Minh City and four flights to Hanoi, Vietnam Airlines’ increased service follows the successful launch of its new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft on all UK routes and new livery, corporate identity and brand image in September 2015.

Vietnam Airlines welcomes Boeing Dreamliner to London Heathrow route
Vietnam Airlines has welcomed the inaugural arrival into Heathrow of its first new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. The UK hub becomes the first international destination on Vietnam Airlines’ network to be served by the new aircraft. After touching down at 09:18 this morning, aircraft VN-A861 was officially welcomed by Nguyen Van Thao, Vietnamese ambassador to the UK.
Vietnam Airlines celebrates first Boeing Dreamliner with Washington flypast
Boeing and Vietnam Airlines have celebrated the first visit to the United States by the head of the ruling Communist Party of Vietnam with a flypast of the airline’s first 787 Dreamliner. The event was witnessed by Nguyen Phu Trong, general Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, during the official state visit.
Vietnam Airlines welcomes new A350 XWB to fleet
Vietnam Airlines has become the second airline in the world to operate the all-new A350 XWB, following a special ceremony in Toulouse. The A350-900 aircraft was delivered to global lessor AerCap on lease to the airline for operation on long haul routes and is scheduled to arrive in Hanoi today. Altogether, Vietnam Airlines is set to acquire 14 A350 XWBs, including ten ordered from Airbus and four from lessors.
