Avianca Adds Temporary Flights Between Bogotá and Valencia, Venezuela
As part of its efforts to support travel for those affected by the emergency in Venezuela, including their friends, relatives and rescue organizations, Avianca has temporarily opened bookings for flights between Bogotá and Valencia. The flights will initially operate through July 10 and are available at special fares. Service may be extended depending on how the situation develops.

IATA AGM 2015: Industry calls on Venezuela to release airline funds
The International Air Transport Association has called on the Venezuelan government to address the problem of the $3.7 billion in airline funds the government is withholding from the airlines. The blocked money was generated from airline ticket sales in Venezuela and is being withheld in breach of international treaties. Venezuela has a complex system of currency controls in place by which the government dictates when and how much revenue airlines can repatriate from the country.
British man killed while holidaying in Venezuela
A British holidaymaker has been shot and killed on the Venezuelan island of Margarita. The brother the deceased – named by the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office as 28 year-old Thomas Ossel from Bedfordshire - was also shot and injured during the incident.
