Travelport, the business services provider to the global travel industry, and Alitalia, Compagnia Aerea Italiana, today announce the implementation of a new agreement for the distribution of ancillary services to Travelport-connected agencies in Italy and worldwide. Fulfilled seamlessly via an electronic miscellaneous document (EMD), the new service will begin rollout in quarter four 2012, starting with travel agents in Italy.

Travelport has revealed number of commercial team changes, all designed to further build on the delivery of its ongoing strategic business objectives. Specifically, under the new structure, Travelport’s marketing and product team will be merged with its commercial function under the leadership of Kurt Ekert, Chief Commercial Officer.

Global distribution systems (GDS) provider Travelport and Saudi Arabian low cost carrier nasair have confirmed the signing of a new content agreement that will see the Riyadh-based airline distribute its fares through the GDS channel for the first time.

Travelport has added two new participants to its Lowest Public Rate Programme that guarantees agents access to the lowest publicly available rate. Both Pullman and Sofitel Hotels are part of the Accor Hotel Group and bring more than 190 hotel properties to the programme.

Business services provider Travelport has today inked a new long term agreement with Qantas Airways. Effective immediately, the new partnership ensures Galileo, Worldspan and Apollo-connected travel agents worldwide have access to Qantas’ full published inventory including ancillary content such as paid seating, consistent with the airline’s website.

Travelport, the business services provider to the global travel industry, and transavia.com, the Dutch low cost airline, have today announced a new agreement for the distribution of transavia.com’s content to Travelport-connected agencies. Initially the service is being piloted in Portugal with plans to make the content more widely available from Q4 2012.
