TAP Air Portugal has resumed services to Manaus, the capital of the Brazilian state of Amazonas, with flight TP51 from Lisbon on 4 November arriving at Manaus - Eduardo Gomes International Airport later that day. The service is operated using an A321 neo aircraft, which can carry 154 passengers (138 in economy and 16 in business). The 11-hour and 45-minute flight includes a stopover in Belém.

According to the company’s data, from 1 January to 10 September 2024, the number of Mexican passengers booking travel to Las Vegas grew by 65% compared to the same period in 2023, consolidating this destination as the number one in the international segment. In 2023, Las Vegas welcomed more than 40 million visitors*, of which Mexican tourism accounted for around one million passengers. The destination remains one of the world’s leading tourism engines, with an average hotel occupancy rate of 83% and more than 151,000 rooms available in the city.

Mandarin Oriental has announced the appointment of Amanda Hyndman to the position of Chief Operating Officer, effective 1 November 2024, following the retirement of Christoph Mares. At this time, she will also continue in her current role as Chief People & Culture Officer. Amanda Hyndman’s career spans over 30 years in the luxury hotel industry and she has been with the Group for 18 years. In that time, she has held several senior management roles in Mandarin Oriental hotels in the UK, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Washington DC as well as Area Vice President roles overseeing hotels in the UK, Germany, Czech Republic and Switzerland and thereafter Hong Kong, Macau and Southern China. Her impressive contribution to the success of the Group led to her appointment as Group Director of Quality & Rooms in 2020 and her subsequent appointment in May 2023 as Chief People & Culture Officer with a task of driving the Group’s evolution from HR to People & Culture.
