Gigantic tornado kills 116 in Midwest
At least 116 people have been killed after a tornado ripped through Missouri, USA. The massive twister also destroyed a local school and turned a number of homes to rubble in the Midwest city of Joplin. The death toll is expected to rise further.

Volunteers have been aiding the recovery effort in the southern United States following the tornado outbreak that killed at least 339 people.

President Barack Obama is to visit communities in Alabama ravaged by the worst storms since 1974.Widespread devastation has also been reported in Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia and Virginia.
