A 22 year old holidaymaker attempted to open the doors of a plane at 36,000 feet because he thought it was a flight simulator, according to reports.
Thomson Airways is making aviation history by becoming the first UK airline to fly customers on sustainable biofuel, and is calling on the airline industry and government to work together to develop a framework that facilitates the wider use of this sustainable fuel.
Thomson Airways will become the UK’s first airline to fly customers on biofuel when it operates a service from Birmingham to Mallorca, Spain next month. The carrier said the flights would operate on a 50/50 mix of Jet A1 fuel and recycled cooking oil in both of the plane’s engines. Subject to safety approval the service would then run weekly for a year.
A Thomson Airways flight has made a safe landing in Greek capital Athens following an onboard bomb threat. Greek fighter jets were scrambled to escort the Boeing 757-200, which was on its way from Bristol to the popular resort of Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt.
