The Peninsula’s Global “Art in Resonance” Programme 2025 Showcases Groundbreaking Contemporary Art
The Peninsula Hong Kong has announced the launch of its 2025 “Art in Resonance” programme, continuing its mission to champion emerging and mid-career artists since the programme’s inception in 2019. Opening during Hong Kong Art Week, this innovative showcase features commissioned works from Hong Kong artists Phoebe Hui and Chris Cheung (widely known as h0nh1m), alongside Shanghai-based artist Lin Fanglu, in partnership with the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A). From late March through May 2025, these boundary-pushing works will transform The Peninsula Hong Kong’s public spaces, offering both hotel guests and art enthusiasts an opportunity to experience contemporary art at the iconic flagship hotel.

Captivating Traditional Lion Dance Performances As it has for the past four decades, The Peninsula Hong Kong will herald the arrival of the Lunar New Year with one of the city’s most breathtaking lion and dragon dance performances – a tradition that symbolises prosperity and good luck for the upcoming year. The awakening ritual of nine lions and one dragon will begin at 9:30 am on 29 January 2025 in the hotel forecourt, after which the dance will continue through the lobby to other areas of the hotel to bring luck, blessings and good fortune to both hotel guests and staff members alike throughout the year.
A CELEBRATION OF ITALIAN CUISINE AND CULTURE AT THE PENINSULA HONG KONG
700 years ago, famed Italian explorer Marco Polo embarked on a journey to China, driven by a desire to unravel the mysteries of foreign cultures and traditions. One of the era’s most famous mercanti (merchants), Marco Polo also became the premier cultural ambassador between the two countries – which have subsequently continued their exchange of art, literature, technology, and cuisine.
New GM named for The Peninsula Beijing
The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited, owner and operator of the Peninsula Hotels, announced the retirement of Mr. Donald J. Harrington, General Manager of The Peninsula Beijing, who will be replaced by Mr. Joseph Sampermans, currently Hotel Manager of The Peninsula Hong Kong. Mr. Sampermans will assume his new role on 15 October 2012.
