The Rezidor Hotel Group has announced its support for the UN Refugee Agency. In June and July 2011, all 300 Rezidor hotels in operation across Europe, Middle East and Africa will collect monetary donations from employees and guests for refugees from Libya who found shelter in Tunisia and Egypt.

Rezidor is boosting its presence in West Africa with the addition of a new hotel in Sierra Leone. Other current and upcoming African projects include Dakar, Bamako, Lagos, Accra, and Abuja. Sierra Leone continues to emerge from the aftermath of the civil war, democracy has been re-established in the country, and the IMF has completed a poverty reduction and growth facility programme which has improved economic growth and reduced inflation levels.
