In the northern emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, just one hour away from Dubai, the Banyan Tree Al Wadi Resort closed its doors in December 2016. The following day this desert resort re-opened under the management of The Ritz-Carlton Company, with 50 associates from sister properties across the region, reports Phil Blizzard.

Jannah Resort & Villas to open in Ras Al Khaimah
Jannah Hotels & Resorts is preparing to expand in Ras Al Khaimah, with a new property opening on February 1st. As the company looks to tap into the undersupplied market in the emirate, the Abu Dhabi-based hotel operator expects to open the 100 hotel apartment and 24 villa Jannah Resort & Villas in just under two weeks.

Ritz-Carlton moves into Ras Al Khaimah with dual property deal
Ritz-Carlton has signed a management agreement with RAK National Hotels, an owner of hotels and resorts in Ras Al Khaimah, marking its entry into the emirate. The brand will manage The Ritz-Carlton Ras Al Khaimah, Al Hamra Beach and The Ritz-Carlton Ras Al Khaimah, Al Wadi Desert, growing the brand’s footprint in the United Arab Emirates to five by 2017.

Ras Al Khaimah sees visitor numbers surge
The Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority has announced a 12.4 per cent increase in total revenue this year, driven by an increase in total visitors to reach 740,383 in 2015. The news further expands Ras Al Khaimah’s position as a premier tourism destination for a genuine Arabian experience.

The apps features an overview of the emirate’s attractions, hotels, excursions, and events, as well as an image gallery, designed for Ras Al Khaimah visitors and residents alike.

Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority secures Moscow flights
Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority has signed an agreement with Natalie Tours to introduce of twice weekly charter flights from Moscow the emirate. Operating in partnership with Alpha Tours, the flights will run from October 2012 to the end of April 2013.
