Accor expands presence in Saudi Arabia
Accor, one of the largest hotel operators in the region and the leader in the mid-market lodging segment, has signed a management contract with Sons of Ahmed Saleh Kaki, a family owned diversified business group, to develop the first Novotel hotel in Jeddah. The new hotel joins Accor’s rapidly expanding KSA network, which currently includes 12 hotels representing over 3,000 rooms.
Vienna to enter Russia with new hotel with wellness and medical spa
The Astrum luxury hotel will open in Shelkovo near Moscow at the end of 2013. Owner of the property is Shelkowskij Holding, while management of the hotel will be in the hands of Vienna International Hotelmanagement AG (VI). Already one year before its grand opening, the 5-star luxury hotel has been accepted for membership in The Leading Hotels of the World as one of the world’s best hotels on the Russian luxury hotel market. With a 3,400 m² spa and a 1,900 m² conference area, the hotel’s focus is clearly on Vienna International’s two greatest strengths: wellness holidays and conference tourism.

Marriott International has announced the opening of the 323-room Shanghai Marriott Hotel Pudong East under a long-term management agreement with Shanghai Hengchang Industry. Marriott Hotels & Resorts is the company’s flagship brand with more than 500 properties in 54 countries globally.
ONYX brings Amari brand to Doha

Hyatt Hotels to bring Andaz brand to Japan with Tokyo property

IHG signs new management contract in Jakarta
InterContinental Hotels Group has signed a management contract for a new hotel and residences in Jakarta, Indonesia. The 480-key InterContinental Jakarta Pondok Indah Hotel & Residences, in partnership with PT Pondok Indah Hotel, a subsidiary of publicly listed PT Metropolitan Kentjana Tbk, is scheduled to open in 2015.
