DoubleTree by Hilton arrives in Catalonian National Park
Hilton Worldwide continues its expansion in Spain with the arrival of DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Conference Center La Mola, a hotel taking its name from one of the highest peaks in the nearby Catalan Pre Coastal mountain range. Having recently opened Spain’s first DoubleTree by Hilton in Emporda and first Hilton Garden Inn in Sevilla, Hilton Worldwide now has eight properties trading across Spain.
W Hotels to enter Israel with W Tel Aviv
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc today announced that it will debut the W brand in Israel in 2015 with the opening of W Tel Aviv - Jaffa and The Residences at W Tel Aviv - Jaffa. Owned by Manhattan-based RFR Holding, the hotel will be set inside a historic 19th century heritage building in the revitalised ancient port neighbourhood of Jaffa.
DoubleTree by Hilton moves into South Africa
Hilton Worldwide has announced the official opening of the first DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in South Africa - the 183-room DoubleTree by Hilton Cape Town - Upper Eastside. Owned and operated by Upper Eastside Hotel under a franchise license agreement, the newly renovated, upscale full-service property is located in Cape Town’s upcoming district of Woodstock, a dynamic area which is home to an abundance of fashionable art galleries, boutiques, music bars and trendy restaurants.
COMO Hotels and Resorts to open new property in The Maldives
COMO Hotels and Resorts has announced it will open an exclusive new property in the Maldives this October. Maalifushi by COMO, an eight-hectare private island in the southerly Thaa Atoll, will be the company’s second resort in the Maldives. Its sister property, Cocoa Island by COMO, located further north in the South Malé atoll, opened in 2002.
Rezidor announces the Radisson Blu Hotel Port Harcourt Olympia in Nigeria
The Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the most dynamic hotel companies worldwide and a member of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, announces the Radisson Blu Hotel Port Harcourt Olympia in Nigeria. The property is being developed by Cenpropsaroten Hotel Management Limited; it will feature 206 keys and is scheduled to open in Q1 2016.
Fireworks and acrobats as Outrigger opens in style in Phuket
Four hundred people attended the sensational grand opening party of the 255-room Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort in Phuket, 4 April. Guest of honour, Phuket Governor Maitri Inthusut, cut the opening ribbon along with Outrigger senior executives and the company’s founding family members who had flown in from Hawaii for the occasion.
New beach houses open at Parrot Cay by COMO
Three new two-bedroom Beach Houses have recently opened at Parrot Cay by COMO in The Turks and Caicos Islands. They are the latest addition to the award-winning private island resort, and have been designed by Cheong Yew Kuan, the Bali-based architect who also created Donna Karan’s house on the island.
AC Hotels by Marriott continues European expansion
Marriott International, Inc. has continued the expansion of its joint venture with AC Hotels with the opening of two new properties – the AC Hotel Nice on the French Riviera and the AC Hotel Sant Cugat in Catalonia, Barcelona. The two new hotels will be welcome additions to the AC Hotels by Marriott brand, which launched in 2011 and now offers over 80 hotels across Europe.
