The International Day of Persons with Disabilities is observed annually on December 3rd with the objective of promoting an awareness of disability issues, the fundamental rights of persons with disabilities and their participation in the social, political, economic and cultural life of their communities.

MSC announced it will be operating two cruise ships simultaneously out of South Africa during the upcoming 2010/11 season in order to meet increased market demand and offer variety to the South African cruise market.

On 1 March 2010, a day after the UK showcase party of MSC Magnifica in Southampton (UK) and three days after the flag ceremony at the STX Europe shipyard in Saint-Nazaire (France), MSC Cruises signed a letter of intent for the delivery of a new ship, MSC Favolosa.
