All Matangi trains ready for service
The last of Wellington region’s 48 new Matangi trains passed all its tests and all the new trains are now ready and available for passenger service.

Metlink: English electric trade me train sold
One of Wellington’s English Electric trains now has a proud new owner in Nelson and will probably be converted into some form of accommodation, following a successful Trade Me auction.
New Metlink mobile website
The new and improved Metlink mobile website is now live. The site now has improved usability, auto-suggest text input and takes fewer steps to get journey planning results.
Changes to Johnsonville train services
As a result of extensive mechanical issues with the English Electric trains that operate on the Johnsonville line and customer calls for more service consistency, a decision has been made by Greater Wellington Regional Council and Tranz Metro to use a combination of trains and express bus services in the morning peak to assist with reduced capacity on trains until Matangi are introduced on the line on Monday 19 March.
Upgrade work at Kenepuru Station completed
Essential repairs and reconstruction at Kenepuru Station on the Kapiti Line have been completed, with the station reopening this morning.

Thursday, 26 January 2012 is $2 Day. For just $2 you can go for it and ride the Hutt Valley, Kapiti and Johnsonville line trains as much as you want.
Kenepuru and Naenae Stations to close temporarily
