Deutsche Lufthansa places 16 plane order to boost fleets
The supervisory board of Deutsche Lufthansa has approved an order for up to 16 additional aircraft, valued at approximately €2.1 billion. Delivery is scheduled to take place in stages until 2022.

Lufthansa passengers will now benefit from an automatic check-in procedure for all flights within Germany and to destinations in Europe. The boarding pass for flights booked up to 24 hours before departure will then be sent automatically to the passenger 23 hours before departure – with no need for any manual check-in, thus saving time and making travel preparations easier.

The Lufthansa Group increased its total revenues for the first nine months of the year by 12.1 per cent to €26,761 million - the company’s best-ever nine-month result. “We achieved another record earnings result in the first nine months of this year,” said Carsten Spohr, chairman, Deutsche Lufthansa AG.
