UK visitors drive tourism to Jordan
Last year marked another successful year for Jordanian tourism, with UK visitor numbers rising by seven per cent, compared to 2015, with Britain remaining the largest European source market for the Hashemite Kingdom.
Museum of Jordan opens in Amman
The Museum of Jordan has opened in the country’s capital, Amman, housing over 2,000 artefacts from Jordanian history, including the Dead Sea Scrolls. The museum features nine major exhibition themes, showcasing Jordan’s environment, food, architecture, trade, politics, communication, industry, religion and daily domestic life through a range of interactive displays.
Jordan installs tourism webcams in collaboration with EarthCam
EarthCam and the award-winning Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) have teamed up to launch a collection of live streaming webcams, with views of some of the country’s most treasured and visited locations. This is a major development for the JTB, as Jordan is the first country in the Middle East to install tourism webcams with great appreciation for Zain Jordan for sponsoring the live Internet feed for all cameras.

Bradt Travel Guides has published its first guidebook to Jordan. Written by Carole French, the guide discusses Jordan’s history and culture, eco projects, wildlife and marine life, desert treks, markets, and malls.

The Jordan Tourism Board’s (JTB) stand displayed its new design, first revealed at World Travel Market (WTM) in London in November 2011, with a 3D entrance depicting the Siq and the path to the Treasury at Petra. It was also awarded a certificate for the 5th Best Stand at ITB.
