Final pre-Budget call from Jamaica to UK on APD
On the eve of the UK Budget, Jamaican minister for tourism, Edmund Bartlett, has presented his final case to the UK government for a reduction or redesign to the current APD system. Speaking in the UK earlier, Bartlett said: “In the knowledge that this week is a very important Budget for the UK and its Government, I would ask that they do not lose site of the APD problem that Caribbean destinations such as Jamaica are currently experiencing.”

Voyager of the Seas first to visit Historic Falmouth Port
Voyager of the Seas – operated by Royal Caribbean - has become the first ship to call at the new Historic Falmouth port in Jamaica. The port - which is situated between Ochos Rios and Montego Bay - is the first themed port and has 60 excursions available for cruise passengers.
Robust growth continues in Jamaica
Jamaica has continued to weather the financial storm over the third quarter, with international arrivals continuing to increase. A robust tourism sector has seen visitor numbers rise by seven per cent over the three months to September, prompting tourism minister Ed Bartlett to praise the efforts of the sector.
