The organisers of International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) Asia have revealed that this year’s show hosted more than 19,000 business appointments between exhibitors and buyers.

Luxury travel agents and buyers from across the Asia Pacific preparing to visit ILTM Asia (Shanghai, 13-16 June 2011) are reporting that emerging destinations such as Myanmar (Burma) or Cambodia are of increasing interest to their elite clients.
As the eighth ILTM in Cannes comes to a close today (10 December) feedback from the world’s definitive collection of luxury experiences and VIP Buyers highlighted that the event exceeded all expectations by providing a forum for ‘unrivalled serious business’.
Buyers at this year’s International Luxury Travel Market are taking the show “much more seriously”, according to the suppliers. The impact of the recession on luxury travel habits means that buyers need to show a definite return on investment and are much more open to negotiation than in previous years.
