Amadeus unveils ground-breaking baggage reconciliation system
Amadeus, a leading technology partner for the global travel industry, announces an agreement today with Icelandair, a customer-oriented airline and travel service company serving 31 gateways in Europe, the USA and Canada, to develop a baggage reconciliation system, Amadeus Airport BRS, capable of offering real-time, automated loading, tracking and management of baggage.

The French National Railway, Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Français, and Amadeus have strengthened their 16-year partnership as SNCF becomes the launch customer for Amadeus Agent Track, a state-of-the-art rail booking solution for travel agents. Amadeus, a leading travel technology partner and transaction processor for the global travel and tourism industry, and SNCF have also agreed an extension to their full content agreement, which will now run to the end of 2012.
Icelandair to launch twice-weekly service to Iceland from Gatwick
GatwickAirport, London’s second largest international airport, announced today that Icelandair - the national flag carrier of Iceland - is to expand its London network by starting twice-weekly flights from Gatwick to KeflavikInternationalAirport - 50 km from the capital Reykjavik. Services will start from 18 October 2012.

Icelandair is planning a route schedule for 2012 which will be the largest in the company’s history and 13 per cent more extensive than this year’s schedule.
