Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts Strengthens China Presence with Agreement to Manage Hotel in Chongqing
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Asia Pacific’s leading luxury hotel group, recently signed an agreement with Chongqing Guest House Co. Ltd. to manage a hotel in Chongqing that is scheduled to open in late 2011. The 469-room Shangri-La hotel will occupy the first 28 floors of a new 58-storey landmark building, a multi-purpose complex incorporating office space and innovative retail outlets.
Warnick + Company Named Asset Manager of Montelucia Resort in Paradise Valley, Ariz.
Warnick + Company today announced it has been appointed asset manager of the 293-room luxury Montelucia Resort in Paradise Valley, Ariz., by the property’s lender, a bank consortia led by Eurohypo AG, one of the world’s preeminent commercial banks. Operated by InterContinental Hotels Group, the luxury resort includes a 31,000-square foot spa, four restaurants, 27,000 square feet of meeting space, and 34 for-sale residential villas serviced by the resort. It opened in the fall of 2008 at a cost of approximately $330 million.

Harrah’s Entertainment Assumes Management of the Planet Hollywood Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip
A subsidiary of Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc. will assume management of the hotel at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip on January 16, 2010, at midnight. The Planet Hollywood hotel is adjacent to Harrah’s Entertainment’s Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip.
Fairwood Capital Acquires Hampton Inn & Suites Memphis Beale Street
Fairwood Capital, LLC, a real estate investment firm focusing on hospitality assets, today announced the acquisition of the 144-room Hampton Inn & Suites Memphis Beale Street for an undisclosed amount from Peabody Place Hotel Company. Peabody Hotel Group, the current operators of the property, will continue to manage the hotel for Fairwood. It is the second hotel acquired by Fairwood in the past two months.
