American Airlines and Beijing-based Hainan Airlines announce codeshare
American Airlines and Beijing-based Hainan Airlines have signed an agreement to codeshare on each other’s flights and to offer their frequent flyer members new opportunities to earn and redeem miles/points. The agreement, subject to government approval, will open many new markets that will complement American’s existing service to China.

Hainan Airlines to launch Zurich Service on May 31st, 2011
Hainan Airlines will start its non-stop service between Zurich and Beijing on May 31st, 2011. The aircraft to be used on this route is A330 with 34 business class and 179 economy seats.
First route between mainland China and Hawaii launched; Hawaii declares ‘Hainan Airlines Day’
Hainan Airline Group (“HNA Group”) today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation with a commercial delegation from the State of Hawaii on November 9. Under the agreement, HNA Group will launch a service between Beijing and Hawaii, the first such service between a city on the Chinese mainland and Hawaii to be offered by a Chinese airline.
Hainan Airlines launches Dubai flights
Hainan Airlines has launched its first direct flights connecting Beijing to Dubai, twice a week. Sharaf Travel has been appointed as GSA for the airline in the United Arab Emirates and the Gulf region.
