UPS secures €6.8bn TNT Express acquisition
American delivery giant United Parcel Service has confirmed it will acquire TNT Express in a deal worth €6.8 billion. Netherlands-based TNT, which presently operates a European fleet of 50 aircraft connecting 65 destinations, will now be linked to a much larger global network.
New cruise booking tool for agents
Agents will be able to get access to 90% of the world’s cruises from 16 operators with the launch of a new online booking tool. Amadeus’ eCruise sits alongside Amadeus’ existing desktop application Amadeus Cruise and will give agents access to multimedia content, destination information and real-time cabin availability.
BA inks cheaper deal with Travelport
Travelport, operator of both the Galileo and Worldspan platforms, has reached a surprise new long-term, global full content agreement with British Airways which will see all of British Airways’ published fares and inventory made available to connected travel agents worldwide until April 2013.
Royal Jordanian signs with Amadeus
Royal Jordanian and Amadeus, a global provider of technology and distribution solutions to the travel and tourism industry, today announce a 10 year IT partnership. Royal Jordanian will adopt the full Amadeus Altéa Customer Management and ecommerce suite of solutions.
