Focus Hotels announces the completion of extensive refurbishment to the landmark Royal Hotel in Hull following its acquisition of the property in 2009. The £1.5 million renovation will ensure this iconic historical building remains a major focal point in the city and the investment will play a major part in the continued regeneration and improvements to Hull city centre.

Focus Hotels Management has completed agreements to take over 10 hotels previously leased by the Real Hotel Company, which went into administration on 21 January 2009. Focus Hotels says this has resulted in saving the business and the jobs of almost 500 people employed at the hotels.The hotels, which have a total of 780 rooms, are in Altrincham, Wigan, Wolverhampton, Hull, Hatfield, Chester, Northampton, Stafford, Blackburn and Telford. They previously operated under the ‘Quality’ and ‘Clarion’ brands.
