flydubai has announced the start of its new route to Salalah, expanding its presence in the Sultanate of Oman. Flights to Salalah will begin on May 21st 2013 and operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

flydubai is to begin operations to two new destinations in Pakistan – Multan and Sialkot. Flights to the north-eastern cities of Silkot and Multan, located in central Pakistan, will operate three times a week from March 13th 2013 and March 14th 2013 respectively.

flydubai has added another destination in Saudi Arabia to its network, with two flights a week to Ha’il. Flights to Ha’il, an oasis city in Nejd in the north west of the country, will commence on February 13th 2013.

flydubai has announced new flights to Malé, the capital of the Republic of Maldives. Commencing on January 19th 2013, flights will operate five times a week between Dubai’s Terminal 2 and the Maldives’ Ibrahim Nasir International Airport on the island of Malé.

flydubai has announced it is to start operations to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, on November 7th 2012. Due to the influx of visitors and a number of key infrastructure projects underway in the city, including upgrades to Tabuk Airport, international travel trade companies such as global hoteliers are travelling to the city, raising its tourism appeal.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, chief exexcutive of flydubai, has explained the importance of the UAE’s role in allowing the airline to flourish at the World Low Cost Airlines Congress held in London, UK. In his speech to leading aviation figures from around the globe, Al Ghaith said: “Throughout our three years of operations we have remained agile in our ability to capitalize on opportunities and we continue to challenge the conventions around low-cost travel.”
