FirstGroup sells Greyhound facilities in North America
FirstGroup has sold three major bus facilities in North America for a total of £102 million. The firm said the move was part of a continuing drive to rationalise its bus property portfolio.

FirstGroup selects IPL for UK technology overhaul
UK rail operator FirstGroup has agreed a five-year IT innovation framework with IPL, a systems integrator specialising in digital innovation and Enterprise Information Management. The agreement will see the companies working together to identify and develop ways to improve the customer experience by enhancing the way it operates its train companies, which include First Great Western and First TransPennine Express.

FirstGroup buoyed by UK rail operations
Global transport giant FirstGroup is on course to meet its financial forecasts for the year after an encouraging third quarter performance. Rail operations in Britain buoyed the company, along with shuttle bus business in the United States. However, demand for Greyhound buses in the US fell, as falling petrol prices saw commuters take to their cars.

Profits down at FirstGroup
British transport organisation FirstGroup has seen profits fall over the financial year, as a tough economic climate puts pressure on its American operations. Intercity bus network Greyhound saw profits slump, but the group’s UK train and bus operations saw like-for-like passenger revenue increase.
