easyJet has announced plans to axe up to 20 percent of flights from its London Luton base as well as close its East Midlands hub. In a move that mirrors Ryanair’s recent hub streamlining, the low-cost carrier said it would look relocate the Luton flights to more “profitable bases”.

easyJet is starting three new routes from its Luton hub in July - Milan, Mahon and Montpellier, bring the number of services from Luton to 34.The Milan route will start on 6 July and operate six times weekly, the Mahon service will start the same day and run three-times weekly, whilst the Montpellier route will start on 7 July and run three-times weekly.
