Saudi Arabian Airlines has entered into a codeshare agreement with China Southern Airlines – Asia’s largest airline with a fleet of 700 aircraft.

China Southern Airlines has signed a purchase agreement with Airbus for 20 A350-900s, becoming the latest customer for the aircraft. China Southern Airlines now operates one of the largest Airbus fleet in the world with more than 300 Airbus aircraft in service, comprising the A320 Family, the A330 Family and five A380s.

Travelport signs expanded contract with China Southern Airlines

China Southern Airlines places $3.2bn Dreamliner order with Boeing
Boeing and China Southern Airlines today finalised an order of 12 787-9 Dreamliners, valued at $3.2 billion at current list prices. The new order strengthens China Southern’s expanding long-haul fleet. “The 787 Dreamliners have helped us to achieve initial success in implementing our internationalisation strategy in the past few years and enabled us to make our operation and services more appealing to passengers,” said Tan Wangeng, chief executive, China Southern Airlines.

Travelport and China Southern Airlines, China’s largest airline, have jointly announced the extension of their multi-year content agreement. The agreement ensures Travelport customers worldwide will continue to have full access to the airline’s fares and inventories via the Travelport Travel Commerce Platform.

Virgin America and China Southern Airlines announce a codeshare agreement to offer seamless booking and travel between China, Southeast Asia and multiple Virgin America destinations across the United States. Under the new agreement, China Southern will place its two-digit airline code and flight numbers on a range of Virgin America routes operating from Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Boeing has confirmed that China Southern Airlines has announced a commitment to purchase 80 737s. The commitment includes a combination of 30 Next-Generation 737s and 50 737 MAX airplanes, valued at $8.38 billion at current list prices.

Korean Air has announced a code-share agreement with China Southern Airlines on the Seoul-Urumqi route. Korean Air’s flights depart from Incheon International Airport on Tuesday and Saturday and China Southern Airlines will operate on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday, giving a choice of five flights a week on the route.

Boeing has delivered the first 777-300ER (Extended Range) to China Southern Airlines, Asia’s largest airline in fleet size and number of passengers carried. The new airplane is the first of ten 777-300ERs China Southern has on order with Boeing.

WestJet today announced it has entered into a code-share agreement with China Southern Airlines (CZ). China Southern Airlines will now begin marketing and distributing WestJet-operated flights.
China Southern Airlines takes delivery of first Dreamliner
Boeing and China Southern Airlines have celebrated the delivery of the carrier’s first 787 Dreamliner. China Southern is the first Chinese airline to take delivery of the airplane. “Today’s 787 delivery represents a significant new milestone in the strengthening partnership between Boeing and China,” said Ray Conner, president and chief executive of Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
